The 2013 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Tre Saggi shows some burnt almond notes derived from the 12 months of aging in new oak. Those toasted notes are evident but they are also reasonably well integrated within the general textural richness and plushness of the wine. It presents a bold, memorable style. Fruit comes from the estate's best vineyard sites.

This leads with aromatic spice box notes that show coconut and violet accents, offering flavors of sappy black cherry and sweet smoke on the palate, with a hint of mocha.
