The 2008 Barbera d-Alba Bricco Loira is very pretty in this vintage. Clean, mineral notes frame blackberries, violets and spices. The oak seems a bit toned down from past versions, a very welcome change. The 2008 doesn't have a ton of fruit - likely the result of an uneven growing season - but there is nevertheless quite a bit to admire in this sleek, polished Barbera.
