The entry-level 2007 Arneis Vigne Sparse is especially round and generous in this vintage. Ripe peaches, almonds, smoke and minerals all flow from this richly-textured white. A slightly bitterish note rounds out the long, satisfying finish. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2009. Almondo is one of Piedmont’s hidden gems. The estate is best known for its Arneis Bricco delle Ciliegie, which sadly comes in above our $25 threshold for this report. These two bottlings, though, offer plenty of pleasure.Importer: Vin Divino, Ltd., Chicago, IL; tel. (773) 334-6700
