The 2010 Apartado Gran Malbec mixes fruit from different locations around Mendoza, Altamira, La Consulta, Tupungato and San Carlos and was aged for 18 months in barrel. It is dark cherry-colored and slightly backward with a tight nose hinting at a serious, balanced wine. It slowly displays elegant aromas of red and black fruit, with just enough spicy notes, and a powerful, balanced palate with very fine tannins, good weight and concentration through to a potent, slightly sweet finish. A great, serious Malbec that is easy to like. Drink 2014-2018.
The Rutini history can be traced back to the 19th century in Italy before they settled in Coquimbito, Maipu, one of the classic places for wine production in Mendoza. They now produce up to 19 million liters of wine per year.
