1993 is the inaugural cuvee of Vieux-Telegraphe's second wine, Le Vieux Mas des Papes. The Brunier family is committed to raising the first wine's level of intensity. In order to accomplish that, they are making a second wine from Vieux-Telegraphe's younger vines. There are 2,500 cases of this 100% Grenache cuvee. The dark ruby/purple color is followed by an impressive wine exhibiting gobs of black fruits and glycerin. Expansive and round on the palate, there is no noticeable harshness, and a mouthfilling, full-bodied, exuberant finish. It is all that a full-bodied, velvety-textured Chateauneuf du Pape should be. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.
