The 2014 Chateauneuf du Pape Clos du Roi Blanc checks in as a blend of 50% Roussanne, 40% Clairette and the balance an even split of Grenache and Bourboulenc. Fermented and aged nine months in barrel, it gives up outstanding notes of sautéed peaches, hints of citrus oil and honeysuckle to go with a medium-bodied, lightly-textured, rounded style on the palate. This rock solid white can be consumed anytime over the coming 2-4 years, or cellared for even longer.
