The 2004 Chardonnay has an intriguing nose: developing subtle secondary notes of lanolin and white flowers. The palate is well balanced with ripe citrus fruits, touches of mango and a little clear honey. Good acidity, harmonious towards the finish with just a hint of orange zest towards the finish. Moderate length. Well crafted and drinking perfectly now. James Healy and Ivan Sutherland continue to produce some wonderful Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, their flagship Section 94 seeming to appear on just about every wine-list of any self-respecting restaurant in New Zealand. Ivan opened vintages that I did not taste on my previous trip to Marlborough as well as recent releases.Importer: Ex Cellars Wine Agencies, tel. (617) 876-5105 (MA) or (805) 686-9153 (CA)
