The Beaune Les Greves exhibits more concentration, focus, and grip than the Beaune Clos du Roi, as well as high levels of tart acid and astringent tannin. Although concentrated, it is not a sure bet for aging gracefully beyond 5-6 years.
This domaine's 1993s possess the vintage's elevated tannins, tart acidity, and lack of concentration. As a general rule, they are sound wines, but none will be extra special.
