The 2007 Syrah White Hawk Vineyard, which I had a glimpse of last year, has turned out to be a beauty. Revealing great fruit purity of cassis and blackberries along with acacia flowers, it is built for the long haul with a dense, full-bodied, structured style. Incredibly delineated in spite of its massive size, this 2007 is unevolved, but promising. Cellar it for several years and consume it over the following 10-12, although I would not be surprised to see it last even longer where well-stored.
These are full-flavored, balls-to-the-walls, beautifully made, intensely flavored wines that are capable of lasting a decade or more (in the case of their biggest Syrahs).
