Roses and spices (mostly cloves) make up the nose of the 1998 Gewurztraminer Herrenweg de Turckheim. Almost dry, its medium-bodied character is broad, floral, massively spicy, and reveals some of the warmth (alcohol) often found in this vintage's wines. Its long, silky finish displays the citrus rind bitterness that is generally associated with this varietal. Anticipated maturity: now-2007.
