The 2014 Maucaillou put in a good performance when I tasted it from barrel. Now in bottle, it builds on that promise with a fresh and vital bouquet: blackberry, tobacco and graphite to the fore, vibrant and engaging. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp and lively entry, well-judged acidity and fine tannin. It is not a dense wine, not a Moulis of immense body, but it has great length and real finesse. This comes recommended.
