The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Poggiotondo offers ripe fruit aromas of strawberry and raspberry jam with distant notes of leather, tobacco and grilled herb at the back. Like the other wines of the Centolani lines, this wine is noticeably thin in appearance and constitution. It makes you wonder what the estate has done with its best fruit harvested in 2010. That said, the Brunello Poggiotondo is probably the softest and richest of the bunch especially where the bouquet is concerned.
