This stunning wine (500 cases produced) is made from 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. Aged completely in new oak casks and bottled unfiltered, this is a thick, flamboyant, meaty, chocolatey, blackberry, and cherry-scented and flavored wine. It is appropriately named given the fact that it represents the essence of old vine Grenache, with its kirsch liqueur, peppery, roasted nut, and super-opulent style. Given today's over-heated market, it is hard to believe that $15 can buy a wine that provides so much joy and pleasure. Moreover, this wine is capable of lasting for a decade, if purchasers can resist the temptation to gulp it down.
This property has been producing better and better wines, thus I am pleased to see the impressive quality of this cuvee.
