The 2004 Lagrein Riserva Castel Ringberg is a dense, burly wine packed with dark varietal fruit, herbs and spices. The wine offers plenty of up-front character, then tapers off a bit on the mid-palate. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2011. Elena Walch makes stylish wines from her vineyards in Alto Adige.
