The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a huge, intense wine loaded with dark fruit and equally imposing tannins. There is good depth to the fruit, but ultimately the tannins win the battle for dominance in the wine’s balance, something that will only increase as the wine ages and the fruit melts away.
