The 2008 The Stump Jump White, a blend of 55% Riesling with the balance Sauvignon Blanc, Marsanne, and Roussanne. Looking at the blend, it is a “what were they thinking” wine but it works. Light to medium straw-colored, the nose offers up minerals, pit fruits and citrus leading to a crisp, refreshing, dry, fruit-filled mid-palate. It has surprising length for its humble price. The nose is showing some appealing if unusually developed aromas of petroleum, wet leaves and honey while the palate is all lime, creating an off-dry impression.
