The 2009 Valtellina Superiore Inferno Riserva comes from its own tiny DOCG appellation in Sondrio province that only covers 55 hectares of vineyard. This is a unique red wine (made with the Nebbiolo grape) with a wild and slightly untamed personality. There is white cherry and bramble backed by resin and exotic spice. The wine presents these aromas with moderate intensity, but very nice integration. Silky tannins make for an elegant touch on the close.
