The 1993 Faugeres (a blend of Mourvedre and Grenache with small portions of Syrah, Carignan, and Cinsault) exhibits a soft, fruity, peppery, black fruit-scented, smoky nose, medium to full body, and lovely suppleness and purity. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. Chateau des Estanilles, a highly regarded, relatively new domaine (founded in 1986), has been receiving accolades from the French wine press. Several of their selections from the Languedoc-Roussillon are expensive for wines from this region, but there is no doubting the high aspirations possessed by the proprietor, the Louison family, and the laudable results they have achieved.Importer: a Daniel Johnnes Selection, Jeroboam Imports, New York, NY; tel.
