The 2005 Marina Cveti? Chardonnay reveals plenty of varietal tropical fruits layered with sweet toasted oak and butter in a rich, generous style of Chardonnay that is unique in Abruzzo. The wine possesses superb balance and a delicate finish that lingers on the palate for some time. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2015. The passing of Gianni Masciarelli in 2008 left a huge void in the world of Italian wine. To be honest, I haven’t always been the biggest fan of Masciarelli’s wines but his contributions to the oenological landscape in Abruzzo are irrefutable.
