Less charming and more angular and lean than the Gigondas release, the 2013 Vacqueyras has notes of black cherries, lavender, pepper and hints of licorice in a medium-bodied, straightforward style. Made from 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, it should be consumed over the coming 4-5 years.
