The fabulous Clos de la Roche just misses being outstanding. Slightly less profound in color than the Charmes-Chambertin, it shows a great bouquet of plummy fruit combined with exotic spices and toasty new oak. On the palate, the wine offers super ripeness, splendid richness, medium to full body, and a long finish. It is ideal for drinking over the next decade. All of Lignier's wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered.
