From the constantly cold and rainy, disastrous 1984 vintage, Hubert Lignier was able to fashion a good Clos de la Roche, a tour de force in winemaking (or was it magic?) if there ever was one. It has an amber/browning color as well as a nose of clean black fruits and stones. Light-to-medium-bodied and rustic, its provides pleasure through its complex dried leaf and dark berry flavors. It is showing signs of drying out and needs to be consumed in the very near term.
