With good density, but revealing a Grenache-like character along with a touch of barrique, is the big, sweet, kirsch liqueur-based 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape. Ripe and medium-bodied, with good sweetness (from glycerin and lofty alcohol) as well as an attractive, lush finish, it should be drunk over the next 5-7 years.
