The 2006 Pinot Noir Cuvee du Tonnelier is 100% Pommard clone. The nose offers a bit more toast along with plenty of cherry and raspberry aromas. Silky, ripe, and layered, the wine neatly conceals enough structure to evolve for another 3-4 years. Savory and concentrated with a long, fruit-filled finish, it will be at its best from 2012 to 2020.
Vigneron Doug Tunnell is a relative veteran of the Willamette Valley scene, having planted his first parcel in 1992. His vineyards are certified biodynamic and all of the wines are sourced from estate fruit. In the 2006 vintage, Tunnell produced two outstanding Chardonnays which should not be overlooked.
