A full-throttle offering that avoids any type of late harvest or Amarone-like character, yet possesses 16.7% alcohol, is the 2002 Zinfandel Grande. A deep plum/garnet color is followed by an evolved nose of fiery black fruits, licorice, underbrush, and hints of truffles as well as balsamic vinegar.
