The 2014 Wilderness from Sparkman Cellars is a Syrah dominated blend that includes 17% Petite Sirah, 12% Grenache, 11% Tempranillo and tiny amounts of Souz?o and Touriga Na?ional. Its deep purple/ruby color is followed by attractive notes of blackberries, plums, peppery herbs and asphalt. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and layered on the palate, with plenty of textured, it's a charming, pleasure bent effort to drink over the coming 4-5 years.
