Here is a lovely wine from an under-the-radar estate that deserves more attention. The 2009 Collio Bianco Riserva is a phenomenal wine with a tireless and overtly generous personality. The bouquet opens to opulent tones of apricot, baked apple, pineapple, yellow rose and sweet almond. Beyond those more apparent tones are subtle tones of crushed mineral and dried Mediterranean herb. The wine offers a few pleasant surprises considering the unexpected complexity of the bouquet. Considering its age, it is holding up beautifully and promises to age forward.
