The 1994 Moulin a Vent Flower Label reveals a saturated deep ruby/purple color, spicy new oak in the nose, excellent ripeness, plenty of glycerin, in addition to highly-extracted fruit, all of which is presented in a full-bodied, fleshy, corpulent style. This well-endowed, muscular Beaujolais should drink well young and last for 5-7 years. This offering was not yet bottled so my tasting was conducted from representative barrel samples. Duboeuf's Moulin a Vents are made to last for 5-10 years. Moreover, top vintages possess a power and intensity that have more in common with a large-scaled Cote d'Or red burgundy.
