The 2004 Vina Cascabel Monastrell (100% Mourvedre aged in 500 liter French oak pungeons) exhibits notes of earth, licorice, flowers, blueberries, and other crunchy berries, moderate tannin, an angular style, but plenty of muscle, depth, and richness. It may merit an even higher score with another 1-2 years of bottle age. It should keep for a decade. Importer: Ken Onish & John Gorman, Southern Starz, Huntington Beach, CA; tel. (714) 892-3030
