The 2013 Dos Dedos de Frente is a co-fermentation of Syrah with a small portion of Viognier à la C?te-R?tie, fermented in open-top stainless steel and aged in well-seasoned oak French oak barrels for some 14 months after malolactic. It has a very Rh?neish nose with plenty of smoky bacon, violets and tar, spicy and exotic, open, aromatic and captivating. The palate revealed a velvety texture with sleek, fine-grained tannins and very good balance, with a rare combination of power and elegance. This comes from one single vineyard at 920 meters altitude on stony and clay soils on limestone mother rock. This is a stunning Syrah. 4,000 bottles were filled in April 2016.
