Mas Neuf's 1999 Costieres de Nimes, a blend of 60% Syrah, 20% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre, and 10% Carignan, exhibits a nose dominated by dried Provencal herbs, with plenty of sweet cherry and raspberry fruit. Light to medium-bodied, it is best drunk over the next year. Importer: Kysela Pere et Fils, Winchester, VA; tel (540) 722-9228
