Guess who let the dogs out? The finest effort yet produced from the amusingly named Dogtown Vineyard, the 1999 Zinfandel (600 cases, 16% alcohol) is great stuff. Blackberries, kirsch liqueur, spice, and pepper are present in this flamboyant, muscular, smooth fruit bomb. With low acidity, ripe tannin, and well-integrated wood, it should drink well for 7-8 years.
