Larry Turley and Ehren Jordan told me that their 1998 Zinfandel Dogtown Vineyard (16.5% alcohol) produced a mere two-thirds of a ton of fruit per acre. An intriguing wine, it reveals a Provencal-like, black cherry and garrigue aroma with scents of the seaweed wrap used in sushi preparations called nori. Deep, opulent, rich, and expansive, with fabulous fruit and low acidity, it is one of the finest efforts from Lodi I have ever tasted. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. Tel. (707) 963-0940
