A considerable step up from their Rojo wines is the 2001 Old Vines Crianza. This 100% Tempranillo was aged 6 months in oak, mostly American, and then given an additional 18 months in bottle prior to release. The wine is medium ruby in color and has attractive spice and dark fruit aromas nicely reflective of time in the bottle. On the palate the wine is seamless and elegant with all the tanin absorbed making this wine ready-to-drink. It offer excellent value in stylish Tempranillo.
