I just finished my last bottle of this domaine's terrific 1989 and I suspect the 1991 will be similar in quality, although perhaps less of a heavyweight. The 1991 exhibits a dark ruby/purple color, a big, intense, black-raspberry and black-cherry-scented nose, super-ripe, medium to full-bodied flavors, and a concentration and presence in the mouth that suggest a Moulin-a-Vent rather than a Fleurie. With tremendous density and richness, as well as good acidity. once more the Duboeuf emphasis on purity has resulted in a wine of undeniable character and appeal. Drink this beauty over the next 2-3 years. Importers: William Deutsch & Sons, Chappaqua, NY and Wine Sellers, Skokie, IL.
