Pillot's top wine is the splendid Chassagne Montrachet La Romanee which exhibits an extremely deep minerality and smokiness in the nose. An explosion of sweet flowers, stones, and red currants greets the palate. This well-made, thick textured, medium-to-full-bodied wine needs to be cellared 2-3 years; it will drink well for 6-7.
