There are 10,000 cases of the entry-level 2008 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley (70% from estate vineyards and 30% purchased) which was aged in 20% new oak for 10 months. Medium ruby red with a charming perfume of cedar, spice box, cherry, and raspberry, on the palate it is medium-bodied, elegant, and densely packed with savory fruit. It conceals enough ripe tannin to evolve for 1-2 years but can be enjoyed now. It will offer considerable pleasure over the next 6-8 years. Adelsheim Vineyards’ 2008 Pinot Noirs are uniformly outstanding as they were able to take advantage of the great fruit provided by the vintage.Tel. (503) 538-3652; www.adelsheim.com
