Dave Adelsheim has been fashioning finer and finer wines for a number of years. For example, consider his 1994 Oregon Pinot Noir. It is unquestionably one of the best bargains in the marketplace. According to the winery, much of it is already sold, so I am not sure how much luck readers will have tracking down a few bottles. It exhibits a dense, dark ruby/garnet color, as well as a beautiful nose of sweet berry fruit, herbs, earth, and game-like scents. A meaty, chewy, fleshy wine, with surprising intensity for its modest price, this lush, well-made Pinot Noir should be drunk over the next 3-4 years. Tel. (503) 538-3652
