The 2011 Rosa de Arrocal is a blend of 70% Tempranillo and 30% Albillo from Gumiel de Mercado. It has plenty of crisp raspberry leaf and strawberry aromas on the nose. The palate is also jam-packed full of bright red cherry fruit, crisp acidity and pleasing weight on the finish. This is a nice little rose wine. Drink now. Bodegas Arrocal was founded in 1999 when Rosa and Moises Arrocal took over the family’s vineyard and expanded their holdings, constructing a gravity-fed winery in 2003. Their wines are matured mostly in French oak, approximately 80%, the remainder in American.
