This winery has always done a terrific job with Mediterranean-styled Rhone Ranger blends, so no one should be surprised by the enthusiastic review that follows. The 1994 Les Cotes Sauvages (42% Mourvedre, 17% Grenache, 17% Cinsault, 16% Syrah, and 8% Carignane) exhibits an attractive, earthy, raspberry, and spicy nose, structured but round, rich flavors, medium body, a certain austerity, fine purity, and a lot of character. It should drink well for another 5-6 years. Tel. (510) 654-1230
