Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru la Truffière from Jean-Marc Boillot has a rather broody nose: chalky with limestone notes, lime cordial surfacing with time in the glass. The palate is fresh, poised with lifted acidity, making this quite sharp towards the finish, but simultaneously minerally and tensile. It coalesces with several swirls and reveals its class – this is a very fine Truffières to drink over the next decade.
