According to Jean-Marc Boillot, there were no second generation buds in his parcel of Puligny-Montrachet La Truffiere in the 1998 vintage. It displays spicy, anise-laden, orange zest aromas, as well as a tangy, well-focused, medium-bodied character. White berries, pears, apples, and flowers can be found in this delicious wine. While it may not be the finest Truffiere ever fashioned by Boillot, it is harmonious, flavorful, and extremely well-balanced. Drink it over the next 6-7 years.
