The 2013 Micho (62% Merlot and 38% Cabernet Sauvignon) is named after the Daou brothers' sister who passed away in 2010 and comes from two blocks, with the Merlot always from the same parcel, and the Cabernet Sauvignon changing from year to year. Aged 20 months in 100% new French oak, it offers lots of plum and cassis fruit, full-bodied richness, solid mid-palate depth and good complexity in its earth, chocolate, herbs and licorice aromas and flavors. It's a touch straightforward, but certainly outstanding. I'd drink it over the coming 7-8 years, although it will evolve for longer.
