The 2011 Bolgheri Superiore Arnione exhibits the overtly dark and jammy style that distinguishes the other wines in this flight from Campo alla Sughera. The bouquet is heavy, dense and packed with blackberry, cherry marmalade, exotic spice, leather and moist chewing tobacco. Because the flavor profile is so intense, it's difficult to identify the wine's more delicate nuances and complexities. They are buried somewhere underneath.

Black currant and blueberry flavors are the hallmarks of this fruit-driven red, which is both elegant and intense.
