The 1993 Peter Michael Chardonnays are all noteworthy wines. The top Chardonnay cuvees (that's relative given the superb level of quality of all Peter Michael's wines) include the 1993 Chardonnay Cuvee Indigene, a wine completely fermented with wild yeasts and aged in 100% new French oak casks made by Burgundy negociant, Louis Latour. There are only 400 cases of this wine, which has an uncommon resemblance to a great Burgundy grand cru. There is almost a red fruit character accompanying the honeyed apple/pineapple, lavishly rich personality. Full-bodied, dry, and rich, with a natural texture, this super Chardonnay should drink well for 5-6 years. Tel. (707) 942-4459
