The 2000 Roter Veltliner Smaragd has an unexciting nose of minerals that leads to a powerful, dense, concentrated, and deep core of fruit. Raspberries, apricots and spices can be found in this medium-bodied offering's personality.. Pichler noticed my lack of enthusiasm for this wine's nose and stated that it takes a few years for it to become aromatically expressive.
