For whatever reason, Kimich's two Spatlese offerings were not as impressive his other offerings. The 1992 Deidesheimer Herrgottsacker Spatlese is tough, backward, and dry. Although rich, it lacks expressiveness. One of my favorite German producers, Kimich fashions personality-filled, lavishly fruity, sometimes exotic wines with intense bouquets and flavors.
