The 2013 Pinot Noir Ribbon Ridge was picked between 17-21 September, before the September storm, unlike the Wichmann Dundee Estate and the Coast Range Estate. It has a composed bouquet with red cherry, wild strawberry and rose petal aromas that are neatly integrated with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, very poised and full of energy, gently gripping the mouth and leading to a very pure and quite sensual finish. This is an impressive wine from Trisaetum that perhaps shows the benefit of picking prior to the rains. This is a gorgeous Pinot Noir from winemaker James Frey that should offer 12-15 years of drinking pleasure.
