The 2006 Cabernet Franc was raised for 34 months entirely in new oak. It sports ripe dark plum, raspberry and cedar on the nose. The palate is full-bodied with an attractive entry that has touches of dried herbs and green bell pepper. But at the moment the oak is dominating the middle and finish and denuding the wine of varietal character.Originally part of the historic Constantia estate, Buitenverwachting produces a wide portfolio of wines, but presently only their Sauvignon Blanc is currently imported into the USA.Importer: Cape Classics, New York, NY; tel.
