The 2002 Shiraz is a worthy successor to the magnificent 2001. This French-styled, Cote Rotie-like blend includes 95% Shiraz and 5% Viognier (all young vines). Less exotic than the 2001, the 2002 reveals an extraordinary floral component to the blackberry and creme de cassis fruit. Elegant, with tremendous purity, a structured mid-palate, and a cool climate finish, this is a gorgeous wine to drink now and over the next 10-12 years.Importer: Dan Philips, The Grateful Palate, Oxnard, CA; tel.
